"A serious wine, Prestige 2014 lacks neither vigor nor length. Its generosity and depth make it an excellent wine, surpassing previous vintages of this cuvée in finesse and richness of composition. Highly recommended!" (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2016 - Gerbelle & Maurange)

Wine rated (2016 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2016 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About wine:

More serious, Prestige 2014 lacks neither vigor nor length, more generous and complete than the cold 2013, and should even surpass the solid 2012 in finesse.

About the estate:

A historic organic farming estate (with over forty years of experience), which Stéphane Guion, 43, has continued to run in the same vein as his father, a mixed farmer. In the commune of Benais, where he moved his winery, he produces Cabernet Franc wines that are more acidic than average and have finer tannins. His Prestige cuvée (a selection of vines between thirty and eighty years old) with notes of black fruit and pencil lead, delivers a tense and sharp palate in its youth, with depth and energy. A Bourgueil with a refreshing but sometimes austere frankness. The wines reflect their terroirs well, but we would prefer a slightly more discreet aging process.

12 bottles drunk between 2016 and 2017, a wine with fruit and depth, could last a long time, but as it is so delicious... Very good value for money.

Not very expressive on the nose. There is a certain harshness on the palate. Not at all fruity. Tasted at 1 and 2 years' interval, this wine did not convince me and I did not enjoy it very much. Correct, but nothing more.

On the bell pepper and small red fruits, it is simple and varietal, not very ripe but clean and expressive.

A successful wine with a very clean taste and noticeable tannins. A beautiful, simple wine that pairs superbly with charcuterie. Good value for money.
