About the estate:
Owned by the Meslet, Thouet, and Rouzier families, this estate—founded in 1913 and known for its consistently high quality—spans 33 hectares, comprising 45 plots and three appellations: Chinon, Bourgueil, and Saint-Nicolas. It has been managed by Germain Meslet since 2012.

A wine with real character! Tannins on the palate, spices, and a lovely spicy intensity. It would benefit from being cellared for a while before drinking. Global warming? It’s starting to resemble the flavors of Côtes du Rhône... Great value for money and a wonderful discovery!

Fresh out of its youth, this well-structured Chinon makes a strong impression with its substantial tannic framework, which supports a silky texture of macerated and spicy black fruits, enlivened by a pronounced freshness and a touch too much pepper on the finish. A wine with character, seemingly discovered early on, paired with a wild boar sauté with chanterelle mushrooms. Rating = 3.3.
