3*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

" There won't be enough to go around! This rare vintage dazzles the eye with its magnificent golden hue. Its intense nose blends the sweetness of jammy yellow fruits with the freshness of minty notes. After a rich attack, the palate reveals a beautiful balance; apricot aromas come through fully against a subtle oak backdrop, and the finish lingers for a long time." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020) A festive delight!

About the wine:

There won't be enough to go around! This rare vintage boasts a magnificent golden hue. Its intense nose blends the sweetness of jammy yellow fruits with the freshness of minty notes. After a rich opening, the palate displays a beautiful balance; apricot aromas come through fully against a subtle oak backdrop, and the finish lingers for a long time.

About the estate:

Consistently high in quality across all styles of Anjou wine, this estate—founded in 1919 by Alexis Deffois—is located in the Haut-Layon region, in southern Anjou and west of the Saumur area. The founder’s grandsons, Hubert and Raymond Deffois, joined in 2010 by the latter’s sons-in-law, Nicolas Tamboise and Benjamin Grandsart, manage a 50-hectare vineyard.
