"A great sweet wine for enjoyment and sharing—a superb success!"

“A Favorite joins a very long list for the Socheleaus, renowned specialists in Angers sweet wines. This sweet wine captivates from the very first sip with its devilishly indulgent aromas of stewed and overripe fruit—fig, date, and apricot, in particular. On the palate, it reveals a rich, full-bodied, ample, and complex wine—yet never heavy—enhanced by a lovely minty freshness and remarkable length. A great wine to enjoy and share, both today and for the decade to come.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2025).

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2025) 2* Favorite (Remarkable wine)

Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the wine:

Favorite to the Socheleaus’ very long list Favorite —they are renowned specialists in sweet wines from Anjou. This sweet wine captivates from the very first sip with its devilishly indulgent aromas of stewed and overripe fruit, particularly figs, dates, and apricots. On the palate, it reveals a rich, full-bodied, complex wine that is never heavy, enhanced by a lovely minty freshness and remarkable length. A great wine to enjoy and share, both now and for the decade to come.

About the estate:

René Socheleau and his son Philippe took over and restructured this 44-hectare estate in 2001, and built a new winery located on the Angevin Corniche, overlooking the Loire and Layon valleys. Their wines are regularly featured in the Guide. A (very) safe bet.
