Château de Chamboureau
The Chamboureau Castle is historically located in the village of Epiré, in the heart of the Savennières vineyards, and has been producing wines for 400 years. The Soulez family, owners of the estate, contributed to the Château's international expansion. In 2006, Pierre Soulez sold his plots to the Fournier Longchamps family (Domaine FL).
Château de Chamboureau is making a fresh start, with the construction of a new winery and vineyard work focused on producing terroir wines. Since 2009, the estate has been converting to organic farming, and a new turning point has also been reached in winemaking. The Fournier family has decided to stop malolactic fermentation in their wines in order to preserve the typical characteristics and exceptional aging potential of these vintages.
In 2019, Julien Fournier, accompanied by Mathieu Boisseau, his technical advisor, and Kyriakos Kynigopoulos, oenologist at Burgundia, selected a few historic plots at Château de Chamboureau to revive this centuries-old estate.
