Château de Chamboureau
The Chamboureau Castle is historically located in the village of Epiré, in the heart of the Savennières wine region, and has been producing wines for 400 years. The Soulez family, owners of the estate, contributed to the Château’s international expansion. In 2006, Pierre Soulez sold his vineyards to the Fournier Longchamps family (Domaine FL).
Château de Chamboureau is embarking on a new chapter, with the construction of a new winery and vineyard management focused on producing terroir-driven wines. Since 2009, the estate has been transitioning to organic farming, and a new direction is also taking shape in the winemaking process. The Fournier family has decided to no longer perform malolactic fermentation on their wines in order to preserve the distinctive character and exceptional aging potential of these vintages.
In 2019, Julien Fournier, along with his technical advisor Mathieu Boisseau and Kyriakos Kynigopoulos, an oenologist at Burgundia, selected several historic plots at Château de Chamboureau to breathe new life into this centuries-old estate.
