"A sublime organic Chardonnay from the Omaka Valley in the Raupo Creek vineyard, produced by Seresin Estate: unparalleled smoothness!"

The 2022 Chardonnay is round, creamy, and succulent. Cultivated biodynamically, harvested by hand, and pressed whole, it exudes an impression of purity and ease. It fills the mouth with concentrated fruit and leaves behind a finely grainy texture that coats the cheeks. Wild fermented and aged in French oak and oak barrels for six months, the oak influence is subtle, with pastry lees characteristics complementing ripe fruit flavors such as apple. Smooth and pleasant, it is ready to drink upon release. 2023-2028." (Vinous 2023) Screw cap

Wine rating (2023 guide) 92/100

About wine:

A lovely bouquet of peaches and vanilla cream, fresh red apples, and soft woody notes. The palate is very pure, with a coarse silky texture, followed by flavors of orchard fruit and citrus peel, fine tannins, and medium acidity. Fresh, ripe, and slightly creamy with a long finish. Quite satisfying and ready to drink from 2023 to 2026+.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 4,5*Étoiles

About wine:

This excellent value, certified organic wine is designed to "emphasize texture on the palate rather than primary fruit notes." It is a typically full-bodied and complex wine, offering a beautiful texture on the palate, notes of ripe fruit, subtly toasted oak, and fresh acidity. The 2022 vintage (4.5*) was aged on the Raupo Creek vineyard estate in the Omaka Valley. It was harvested by hand, then fermented and aged for six months in French oak barrels and casks. Lively, slightly lemony/green, this is an elegant, fresh, and full-bodied wine with slightly toasted peach flavors, revealing great complexity, beautiful youthful vigor, lovely acidity, and a long finish. Best enjoyed from mid-2024 onwards.
