“A sublime organic Chardonnay from the Omaka Valley’s Raupo Creek vineyard, produced by Seresin Estate: with unparalleled smoothness!”

"The 2022 Chardonnay is round, creamy, and luscious. Grown biodynamically, hand-harvested, and whole-cluster pressed, it exudes a sense of purity and ease. It fills the mouth with concentrated fruit and leaves behind a finely textured mouthfeel that coats the cheeks. Fermented naturally and aged in French oak barrels for six months, the oak’s influence is subtle, with pastry-like lees characteristics that complement the flavors of ripe fruit like apple. Smooth and pleasant, it is ready to drink upon release. 2023–2028” (Vinous 2023) Screw cap

It fills the mouth with concentrated fruit and leaves behind a finely textured mouthfeel that coats the cheeks. Wine rated (2023 guide) 92/100

About the wine:

A lovely bouquet of peaches and vanilla cream, fresh red apples, and soft woody notes. The palate is exceptionally pure, with a coarse-silk texture, followed by flavors of orchard fruit and citrus peel, fine tannins, and moderate acidity. Fresh, ripe, and slightly creamy with a long finish. Quite satisfying and ready to drink from 2023 to 2026+.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 4,5*Étoiles

About the wine:

This excellent value-for-money, certified organic wine is designed to “emphasize mouthfeel over primary fruit notes.” It is a typically full-bodied and complex wine, offering a beautiful mouthfeel, notes of ripe fruit, subtly toasty oak, and fresh acidity. The 2022 vintage (4.5*) was aged at the Raupo Creek vineyard estate in the Omaka Valley. It was hand-harvested, then fermented and aged for six months in French oak barrels and casks. Lively, with slight citrus and green notes, this is an elegant, fresh, and full-bodied wine with flavors of lightly toasted peach, revealing great complexity, youthful vigor, lovely acidity, and a long finish. Best enjoyed starting in mid-2024.
