About the wine:

The 2018 Loureiro is the winery’s classic version, meaning “unaged in oak.” Of course, it is dry and still, which is true of all the estate’s wines. It contains 12% alcohol, less than 1.5 grams of sugar, and 5.8 grams of total acidity. It still seems as fresh, balanced, and sunny as ever, as well as surprisingly full-bodied, but owner Pedro Araujo noted that it lacked a bit of acidity. It is not flat, however. It offers perfect balance, classic aromas, and pure fruit expression. Yet it doesn’t resemble one of the spicy, tight Loureiros that Ameal often produces either. It’s just a baby, and this is a cuvée that generally ages well. Let’s start here and see how it ages in a few years.
