Herdade do Portocarro

Herdade do Portoccaro is located in the small village of Sao Romao, in the Alcacer do Sal region. The property borders the Setubal Peninsula region, on a large plain near the Sado River, where 18 hectares of vineyards are located. The name Portocarro comes from the highest point in the region, called "carro," and the port ("porto"), which was an important commercial transit point for centuries until the development of road transport. Herdade do Portoccaro strives for excellence in each of its vintages, particularly by working with small yields. The wines of the Portocarro estate are distinguished by their personality and complexity.
