Château Vignelaure
The first estate to introduce Cabernet Sauvignon to Provence in 1966, it inspired Eloi Dürrbach, who worked there for two years. In 2007, it was taken over by Mette and Bengt Sundstrøm, a Scandinavian couple who began converting the vineyard to organic farming. It spans 280 hectares, 56 of which are vineyards, on a heavily stony clay-limestone soil, at an altitude of between 350 and 400 meters. The estate is renowned for its reds, which age for at least four years—two of which are spent in barrels followed by bottle aging at the estate—while the whites are also gaining recognition.
