“A true aromatic blend of passion fruit, pineapple, and guava characterizes this pale, fresh, and delicate rosé, with exotic notes dominating both the nose and the palate.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021) Première de Figuière combines a rich, indulgent roundness with a briny character. A rosé worthy of the appellation’s finest!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)

About the estate:

This is one of the most famous estates in Provence. It belongs to the Combard family, who manage this 85-hectare vineyard, 30 hectares of which are leased. The vines, located along the coast on schist soil, have been cultivated using organic methods since 1979. Steps are currently underway to transition the entire estate to biodynamic farming. We applaud this commitment, which is no small feat for an estate of this size. While the wines are among Provence’s most reliable offerings, the family also goes the extra mile in welcoming visitors and, during the sunny days of the season, offers a cultural program well worth the visit.

Made from organic grapes, this wine is ripe and silky. Flavors of raspberry and fresh lemon add a lovely fruitiness that balances the texture.
