Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

Rated estate (2012 guide) 6 stars (Exceptional production)

About the estate:

(Tardieu-Laurent) "A wine enthusiast, Michel Tardieu teamed up with Dominique Laurent, the brilliant Burgundy wine merchant and winemaker, to start a small wine trading business about ten years ago. Michel Tardieu is unrivalled in his ability to source wines from old vines in all the Rhône appellations. Add to this Dominique Laurent's expertise in aging, with his magnificent barrels, and you have a dynamic duo producing some of the most extraordinary wines in the Rhône."

Rated estate (2014 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

(Tardieu-Laurent) "Michel Tardieu is now the sole owner of this small, high-end wine merchant, created from scratch in the early 1990s with Burgundian Dominique Laurent in the Rhône Valley. Thanks to excellent grape supplies and a keen sense of winemaking and aging, he produces a consistent range of wines with a modern spirit."
