Rated estate (2012 guide): 6* Stars (Exceptional quality)

About the estate:

(Tardieu-Laurent) “A wine enthusiast, Michel Tardieu teamed up with Dominique Laurent, the brilliant Burgundian wine merchant and winemaker, to start a small wine trading business about ten years ago. Michel Tardieu is unmatched in his ability to unearth old-vine cuvées across all the Rhône appellations; add to that Dominique Laurent’s expertise in aging, with his magnificent barrels, and you have a dynamic duo that crafts the most extraordinary wines of the Rhône.”

About the estate:

(Tardieu-Laurent) “Michel Tardieu is now the sole owner of this small, high-end wine merchant, which he founded from scratch in the early 1990s with Burgundian Dominique Laurent in the Rhône Valley. Thanks to excellent grape sources and a keen sense of winemaking and aging, he produces a consistent range of wines with a modern approach.”
