Rated estate (2020 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the estate:
Jacqueline Bichot, a pharmacist turned winemaker, fell in love with this vineyard, ideally situated against the backdrop of Sainte-Victoire Mountain. Located at an elevation of 400 meters, the area’s cool climate is reflected in the wines. The Sainte-Victoire terroir produces pure, elegant wines here that are perfectly in tune with their origins. Having earned organic and biodynamic certification in 2017, she has demonstrated the commitment behind her approach and continues to nurture her 47 hectares of vines on the clay-limestone soil typical of the appellation.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2019 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
The estate takes its name from the Chapel of Saint-Ser, dedicated to a 5th-century hermit who, ignoring the threats of the Visigothic ruler Enric, was beheaded. Cultivated using biodynamic methods, its vineyard (46 hectares) stretches across a prime terroir of limestone gravel on the southern slope of Sainte-Victoire Mountain, where the grapes enjoy maximum sunlight.
