Mas de Valériole
The Michel family has been running Mas de Valériole since the late 1950s. Located in the heart of the Camargue Regional Nature Park, Mas de Valériole is named after the estate's founder in 1426, François de Valériole, a doctor from Arles.
Mas de Valériole is a 22-hectare wine estate that has been certified organic since 2006, under the Bouches du Rhône PGI. The two Michel brothers have divided up the tasks on the estate: Jean-Paul is in charge of growing wheat, rice, and sunflowers; Patrick is the winemaker. The latter has undertaken the restructuring of the vineyard by uprooting grape varieties that were not satisfactory in favor of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Caladoc, Marselan, Chardonnay, and Vermentino.
The estate produces two ranges of wines corresponding to the two geographical entities of the property: Mas de Valériole and Domaine Saint Vincent.
