Wine rated (2020 guide) 16.5/20 Top Pick

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

A high-quality wine. It is ripe without being overpowering, with a certain freshness, a savory quality, and good concentration. It has a long, lingering finish.

About the estate:

Château des Tourettes owns a lovely vineyard on the Apt plateau. Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens have almost entirely restructured the vineyard, demonstrating their commitment to creating a distinctive terroir through the replanting of mass-selected vines. The wines remain true to Jean-Marie Guffens’s style, consistently balancing fully ripened grapes with a mineral edge on the finish. Jean-Marie and Maine are refocusing production on white wines and discontinuing the Guffens du Sud wine merchant business.
