Domaine La Vitalis
Domaine la Vitalis is a fine example of the Cairanne appellation. Located on the left bank of the Rhône, in the heart of the Vaucluse region, the village of Cairanne shares with Rasteau a magnificent hill whose slopes are composed of poor, very stony soil known to local winemakers as “garrigues.”
Owned by the Jubain family, Domaine la Vitalis has been cultivating 40 hectares of vineyards for several generations: the vines have an average age of 75 years, with century-old Grenache and 60-year-old Syrah, where the soils are plowed and left weedy.
Patrice Jubain crafts his wines in a very traditional manner, without added yeast or cold fermentation, and 100% in concrete tanks. The wines of Domaine la Vitalis highlight the "robust" character of Cairanne, with plenty of fruit and power.
