Domaine La Vitalis
Domaine la Vitalis is a fine representative of the Cairanne appellation. On the left bank of the Rhône, in the heart of Vaucluse, the village of Cairanne shares with Rasteau a superb hill whose slopes are composed of poor, very stony soil called "garrigues" by local winegrowers.
Owned by the Jubain family, Domaine la Vitalis has been cultivating 40 hectares of vines for several generations: the average age of the vines is 75 years, with some Grenache vines over 100 years old and Syrah vines 60 years old, where the soil is plowed and not weeded.
Patrice Jubain works his wines in a very traditional way, without yeast addition or cold fermentation, 100% in concrete vats. The wines of Domaine la Vitalis bring out the "solid" side of Cairanne, with lots of fruit and power.
