"American Idol

"The next generation is on the move in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. With this first vintage, the Mayard brothers are off to a great start. This wine is a major success. It has an elegant bouquet of flowers and wild strawberries. Intense, pulpy, yet fine, with the sensation of delicate tannins and deep fruit. There's a feeling of serenity in this wine, combining freshness and maturity, and an acidity that carries it through to a long finish. Sumptuous. (Revue RVF n°674 - October 2023)

About the domain :

The separation of Vignobles Mayard in 2021 has enabled Arthur and Hugo to take on their own interpretation of the region's wines on ten hectares of vines in Châteauneuf and two in Côtes du Rhône. The winery is located in the heart of the village. The vineyards are planted on a variety of geologies, representative of the appellation: the grande coulée with its rolled pebbles, the Serres, the northern slopes of the Crau plateau with its sands, and the Pointu, where Mourvèdre is king. We loved the elegance and graceful mouthfeel of the wines presented. We'll be keeping a close eye on the estate's development.

Note and review by M. MATHIEU W. Published on 18/02/2024

Score: 17+/20
