"Truly a great wine!"
“Given its dense character and aromas of black fruit, you wouldn’t guess that this wine comes from the challenging 2021 vintage. Rich, velvety tannins round out a full-bodied palate. Beautiful, fleshy, and spicy complexity. A bold finish. Not to be missed.” (James Suckling 2023)

About the wine:
Sourced from just one of Vignon’s consulting clients, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Anonyme is slightly less expressive on the nose than its CdP blend, but it offers more cherry notes alongside strawberries and pomegranates. It is full-bodied, rich, and concentrated, with a long, tannic finish. Although of roughly equivalent quality, it is quite different in style, with likely slightly greater aging potential. The blend consists of 60% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% Roussanne and Vaccarèse, 3% Muscardin, and 2% Counoise. Fermentation and aging take place in a wide variety of containers, including a significant proportion of amphorae.
