Château d'Or et de Gueules

Château d'Or et de Gueules was founded in 1998. It takes its unique name from the family coat of arms of Diane de Puymorin, with its colors reflecting the personality of the wines produced there: gold for fullness, sunny richness, and warmth, and red (Gueules in Old French) for character, power, and drinkability. The wines of Château d'Or et de Gueules have their own distinct character. Across all three vintages, they are distinctive, full-bodied, subtle, and promising. Having converted to organic farming in 2012,Château d'Or et de Gueulesis now managed using organic methods and has been in the process of converting to biodynamic farming since 2017. 

Located at the gateway to the Camargue on the Chemin des Cassagnes between St Gilles and Générac (see map) on the southern slope of the Costières de Nîmes, the Château d'Or et de Gueules vineyard enjoys an ideal south-southeast exposure and a terroir of rounded pebbles. The estate covers an area of 50 hectares. The reds and rosés are blends of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault. The whites are made from Chardonnay, White Grenache, Roussanne, and Rolle.
