Notes: Gerbelle & Maurange 16.5/20, Bettane & Desseauve 15.5/20, RVF 14/20, Guide Hachette 1* (Very successful wine)
"Deep red in color, with an intense bouquet of perfectly ripe fruit (candied cherry), spices, licorice, and violet (contributed by the Syrah), followed by a dense and long palate with silky tannins. However, a hint of austerity on the finish calls for a little patience. In a year or two, this bottle will go well with a cocoa-flavored lamb sauté or duck breast with figs." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)

About the estate:
François Collard is a regular feature in the Guide, with wines that often rank highly. Established in 1994, he produced his first bottles from the family vineyards (65 hectares certified organic since 2014) under two labels: Mourgues du Grès, owned by the Ursuline convent in Beaucaire until the Revolution, and La Tour de Béraud, which takes its name from a 14th-century watchtower dominating the vast Beaucaire plain. Never short of ideas, the Collard couple invite visitors to discover all the facets of the estate via a marked trail equipped with Bluetooth terminals.
