"The vintage that embodies all the grandeur of the estate"
The 2021 Côte Rôtie La Landonne will likely be the wine of the vintage, and it has more density, depth, and length than any other wine. The classic La Landonne has smoky, meaty notes, as well as plenty of ripe black fruit, leather, and violet. The palate is medium-bodied to full-bodied, remarkably pure, with ripe, polished tannins and a magnificent finish. This is a relatively accessible La Landonne that should reach its peak in 7 to 8 years and have an overall longevity of more than two decades. (Jeb Dunnuck 2024). • Delivery in a single wooden case for all orders of this wine (except for Point Relais delivery method).

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the estate:
Marcel and Philippe Guigal jointly run the successful family business, which since 2017 has expanded significantly in the south, in Châteauneuf-du-Pape (77 hectares of land), supplemented in spring 2022 by the 100 hectares of Château d'Aquéria. And still the rich parcels in Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and Hermitage. Wine lovers can taste some of the greatest vintages in the valley, not to mention the brilliant Côtes-du-Rhône, in all three colors, and Tavel, Philippe's favorite wine.

About wine:
The nose is very spicy, with notes of sparkling cinnamon and smoky, ashy notes emanating from the grape. Medium-bodied for La Landonne, this wine seems unassuming, but it is decidedly fresh. The tannins are quite dry at the moment, but they are very fine. It is not as long or concentrated as many recent vintages, but it will be a fresh, balanced, and complex wine with time. This wine was made from 100% whole clusters. Sample tasted at the beginning of its long maturation in 100% new oak barrels.

About the estate:
In addition to its "treasures" in Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, and Condrieu, Guigal owns two beautiful plots in Saint-Joseph: the "Saint-Joseph" locality, which gave its name to the appellation, and the Vignes de l'Hospice, planted on a very steep granite hillside, already identified by the monks of the Hospice de Tournon and with a geological formation similar to the famous Bessards hill in Hermitage.

5-star rated estate (Outstanding production)
About the estate:
An iconic figure in the northern Rhône, Marcel Guigal is both a major wine merchant and a large landowner. In the latter capacity, he cultivates famous Côte Rôtie vineyards such as La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne, not to mention La Doriane in Condrieu. A tireless worker with an insatiable intellectual curiosity, he succeeded his father, Etienne. Philippe Guigal, an oenologist representing the third generation, continues the work alongside his father, still maintaining this duality of property and trade. The vinification of the northern appellations all takes place in Ampuis.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2024 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
The most iconic winery in the northern Rhône Valley needs no introduction. Under this entity, we bring together wines from our own vineyards, which we separate from our wine trading activities. This includes the famous trio from Côte-Rôtie: La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne, the first two being brands and the last a registered terroir. Added to these are the Château d'Ampuis cuvée and the Condrieu La Doriane. In addition to these star wines, there is the Vignes de l'Hospice cuvée, a Saint-Joseph located on a magnificent terroir, as well as a few large plots in Hermitage from which the Ex-Voto cuvée is produced. Marcel Guigal is ably supported by his son Philippe, who seems to be gently changing the style of the wines, with a slightly less dominant approach to aging. Needless to say, all these wines are made for long-term aging.

About wine:
The nose is smoky, with notes of grilled meat, cloves, spices, and smoke. The palate is gripping with firm, robust, and taut tannins. The palate is also smoky and meaty. Graphite, damp earth, and a very savory side. Good concentration, supported by the characteristic acidity of the vintage.

About wine:
The 2021 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne opens with pronounced aromas of black olive, pencil shavings, dried meat, raspberry, and woody spices. Fragrant hints of orange blossom and violet add a floral touch. The ripe, firm but remarkably polished tannins provide a solid structure. Showing more energy and ambition than La Mouline and La Turque, La Landonne 2021 is a medium-bodied Côte-Rôtie with scope and concentration.
