Domaine La Réméjeanne
Domaine La Réméjeanne is a family-owned estate now skillfully managed by Remy Klein, situated in the heart of a lush green setting, just a short distance from the Gard town of Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
Domaine La Réméjeanne comprises 38 hectares of vineyards cultivated using certified organic farming methods, 2 hectares of olive trees, and 0.50 hectares of fig trees, spread across a varied terroir of loess, fissured calcareous sandstone, and calcareous clay at an altitude ranging from 200 to 280 meters. The vineyard is highly exposed to the Mistral (a cold north wind), which causes the soil and grapes to dry out quickly after rain. The terraced layout and the east/southeast orientation of the vines contribute to the elegance and freshness of the wines produced. The Côtes-du-Rhône are primarily located on east-facing slopes (the rising side), while the Côtes-du-Rhône Villages are mostly on the southeast (warmer) side. The limestone sandstone bedrock varies in depth: closer to the surface for the Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, deeper for the Côtes-du-Rhône.
In keeping with the values upheld at Domaine La Réméjeanne, the work of the team contributes to respect for the environment and traditions. Harvesting is done by hand, and the grapes are transported in perforated crates. Sorting takes place in the cellar on a vibrating table. Vinification and aging are carried out primarily in temperature-controlled concrete tanks for 8 to 24 months.
