Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2016 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Gilles Robin does not sell to private individuals, but his Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph wines are available at wine merchants and restaurants. The vineyards are well maintained and are currently undergoing conversion to organic farming. In 2009, a delay in ripening prevented the harvest of silky tannins, but the 2010 vintage has regained the freshness and body that characterize the estate's style, with a flawless range this year, including the new and microscopic Hermitage cuvée.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2015 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the estate:
A family estate for four generations: 18 hectares currently undergoing conversion to organic farming, managed since 1996 by Gilles Robin.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2016 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
The Gilles Robin estate is one of the rising stars of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. Always well-balanced, its wines are clean, frank in flavor, full-bodied and fleshy, without excessive extraction or aging. They can be enjoyed young for their bright fruitiness, although they are sufficiently structured to withstand a few years of aging. For lovers of rich yet elegant wines, this is a domaine not to be missed.
