Duché d'Uzès
Established in 2013, the Duché d'Uzès appellation is part of the Rhône wine region. The Duché d'Uzès appellation covers 285 hectares, spread across 77 municipalities. Some forty winemakers produce the wines of Duché d'Uzès, which come in three varieties: 58% red, 25% white, and 17% rosé.
The red wines are colorful, aromatic, spicy, and fruity; they often feature hints of licorice, pepper, and the scent of aromatic herbs reminiscent of the surrounding garrigue. The grape varieties include Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignan.
Duché d’Uzès white wines reveal the complexity of their blend (Viognier, White Grenache, Roussanne, Marsanne, Vermentino): aromas of almond, dried fruit, and flowers. The palate is rich and full of flavor, always retaining a lovely freshness on the finish.
