Bastien Jolivet Estate
Located in the historic heart of the Saint Joseph appellation in Saint-Jean de Muzols, this small family estate, which has been in existence for several generations, has taken a new direction since 2014. At that time, after several years of training in France and abroad, notably with Stéphane Montez, Bastien decided to return to the estate and join forces with his father. They then stopped selling grapes to make their own wine. Today, the 8-hectare vineyard is planted on south/southeast-facing slopes, mainly with red and white Saint Joseph grapes. These granite terroirs, planted with stakes and mostly worked by hand, are ideal for Syrah grapes. With Bastien's new vision, the estate is showcasing its work and determination through vintages that are quickly making a name for themselves. From the outset, Bastien has demonstrated precision and skill. Together, they strive to produce wines that are as balanced as possible and believe that the key to this lies in the work carried out in the vineyard. The work in the cellar is secondary to the grapes, with traditional vinification in stainless steel vats with temperature control to manage extraction. Aging and malolactic fermentation take place in barrels. Great wines in the making.
