Bastien Jolivet Estate
Located in the historic heart of the Saint-Joseph appellation in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, this small family-run estate—which has been in operation for several generations—has taken a new direction since 2014. At that time, after several years of training in France and abroad—notably under Stéphane Montez—Bastien decided to return to the estate and partner with his father. They then stopped selling their grapes to produce their own wine. Today, the 8-hectare vineyard is planted on hillsides with south/southeast exposure, primarily with red and white Saint Joseph vines. These granite-rich terroirs, planted with staked vines and mostly tended by hand, are ideal for the Syrah grape to flourish. With this new vision brought by Bastien, the estate showcases its dedication and commitment through wines that quickly garnered attention. Indeed, from the very beginning, Bastien demonstrated precision and a rich, full-bodied character. Together, they strive to produce wines that are as balanced as possible and believe that vineyard work is the key to achieving this. Cellar work serves to support the grapes; vinification is traditional, carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to manage extraction. Aging and malolactic fermentation take place in barrels. Great wines in the making.
