"Rare, limited quantity!"

One of the region’s finest white wines. Stéphane Robert’s Saint Péray Pur Blanc proves that high altitude isn’t a prerequisite: the century-old Marsanne vines are located in the village of Saint Péray, at the foot of the appellation. It offers delicate aromas on the nose reminiscent of crushed stone and rainwater, then floral and fresh on the palate, with lively flavors of pear and melon. Beautifully rounded, with a long, lively, and refreshing finish, and an almost weightless character.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Since taking over in 1994, Stéphane Robert—who does not come from a winemaking background—has established himself as a leading figure in the northern wine region. He built his vineyard from the ground up; today it spans 11 hectares of highly fragmented plots, planted with Cornas, Saint-Joseph, Saint-Péray, and Condrieu vines. These vineyards run alongside an old railroad track and a 160-meter tunnel—still visible today—which gives the estate its name and in which a new winemaking facility and aging cellar were built in 2013.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100 (2019 vintage)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

Stéphane Robert manages his estate with great skill, crafting modern, precise wines that have established themselves as benchmarks within the Saint-Péray and Cornas appellations. These wines bring a fresh perspective to the style—sometimes rustic and sun-kissed—of these two small appellations. Stéphane brings touches of refinement to his opaque Syrahs, achieved through precise grape ripeness, extraction, and aging. The wines also age very well.
