"A Marsanne of choice with sublime finesse"

A white wine from a specific location, made from old vines planted on the appellation's historic terroirs. Its rich, fruity, and mineral style makes it the perfect accompaniment to poultry and roasted lobster.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

To revive the Seyssuel vineyard located upstream from Vienne, three renowned winemakers, Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard, and François Villard, created this business in 1996, producing fine IGP estate wines in Seyssuel, single vineyard selections in northern AOCs, and wines from throughout the valley.

Wine rating (2022 guide) 91/100 (2018 vintage)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

The trio of Villard, Cuilleron, and Gaillard began the Vins de Vienne adventure in the late 1990s. Initially, the aim was to revive the superb forgotten terroirs of Seyssuel, one of the first vineyards in the Rhône Valley: of the 16 hectares of vines, 11 were planted between 1996 and 2001. Over the years, the range has expanded with the purchase of grapes. While the wines from the Seyssuel terroars remain admirable and are the hallmark of the estate, the other vintages seem less convincing to us, which has led us to withdraw the estate's star rating this year.
