Domaine Berta Maillol

They cultivate a vineyard of about 15 hectares on the slope known as “la Côte Vermeille,” working a rocky schist terroir where the vines are planted on terraces due to the steep incline. The landscape of this unique region stretches from the sea to the mountains (the Pyrenees), with a steep vineyard overlooking the sea. 

 

The Berta Maillol estate produces a range of traditional red Banyuls wines, as well as amber, rancio, rosé, and a dry white wine under the Collioure appellation. Inthe Banyuls appellation, Grenache reigns supreme; it is the sole grape variety used in red Banyuls wines. The Berta Maillol family also works with other grape varieties native to the region, such as Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, and Macabeu.
