Berta Maillol Estate
Located in a region renowned for its natural sweet wines in Banyuls-sur-Mer, the Berta Maillol Estate The same family has been producing wine for over 400 years. Since 1611, numerous changes have shaped the winery and its wines. Today, Michel and Georges manage the estate, continuing the work of their father, Jean-Louis Berta-Maillol.
They cultivate a vineyard of about 15 hectares on the slope known as “la Côte Vermeille,” working a rocky schist terroir where the vines are planted on terraces due to the steep incline. The landscape of this unique region stretches from the sea to the mountains (the Pyrenees), with a steep vineyard overlooking the sea.

The Berta Maillol estate produces a range of traditional red Banyuls, as well as amber, rancio, rosé, and a dry white wine under the Collioure appellation. Inthe Banyuls appellation, the Grenache grape reigns supreme; it is the sole grape variety used in red Banyuls wines. The Berta Maillol family also works with other grape varieties native to the region, such as Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, and Macabeu.
