About the estate:
Since 1996, Patrick Saurel has been hard at work. Coming from a business background, he has pursued his passion for winemaking to the fullest: restructuring and expanding the estate, building a new winery, opening a wine museum, and adopting sustainable farming practices... His vineyard now covers 30 hectares and is in the process of converting to organic farming.

About the wine:
Bright ruby color with violet hues. A subtle nose revealing notes of bacon, spices, and smoke, with a fruity undertone. The palate is more expressive, robust, and full-bodied, offering a beautiful, sunny flavor profile supported by silky tannins. Delightfully refreshing and invigorating, with a hint of minerality on the finish.

Aromatic and alluring. Fruity and full-bodied, without excessive alcohol

Without a doubt, the least one can say is that this Red Star commands respect and shines with its opulence and full-bodied character. Straightforward from the first sip, the wine bursts onto the palate with a juicy mouthfeel and a solid tannic structure that releases aromas of highly acidic black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, cooked prunes), contrasted by notes of spice and violet. The sustained liveliness carries through to the finish, adding a touch of freshness. Rating: 4.2. This cuvée, intended for lovers of full-bodied southern wines, is best paired with game dishes or even a regional specialty such as a bean stew, especially since it is the peak season for fresh fava beans.
