“Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside”

This blend of Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Syrah combines richness with freshness. On the palate, it bursts with notes of jammy fruit and stone fruit, with fine tannins that lend the finish a lovely length. Impressive value for the price!

Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more conventional and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

La Préceptorie began as a challenging yet triumphant venture by the Parcé family. Young Joseph, who had been at the helm of this 32-hectare estate, stepped down at the end of 2016, and Augustin and Vincent now run the operation. Located in the Agly Valley, in Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, the vineyard spans both the Maury region and the slopes of the surrounding mountains.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Mentioned (Successful wine)

About the estate:

A native of Banyuls and thus a man of the sea, rooted in the schist soils and vineyards of the Côte Vermeille, Joseph Parcé, son of Marc (La Rectorie), arrived in Maury in 2007 as cellar master at Dom. de la Préceptorie, which had been founded in 2001. In 2017, the new generation—Martin, Augustin, and Vincent—joined Marc and took over the management of the 45-hectare vineyard.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

A blend of Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Syrah—some of the vines dating back 100 years—this wine is full-bodied, vibrant, and delicate. It offers complexity, a long finish, and a mouth-watering quality. It has excellent balance and good aging potential. (La RVF No. 682, July–August 2024)
