Tarn coastline
The Côtes du Tarn PGI is an appellation whose geographical area is located north of Toulouse, in the southwestern region. The PGI label replaced the former Vin de Pays des Côtes du Tarn appellation in 2009. The IGP Côtes du Tarn may be followed by a more specific geographical indication: "Cunac" or "Cabanes."

The terroir of the IGP Côtes du Tarn consists of stony and gravelly soils, with the vines growing on the hillsides of the Tarn. The climate of the IGP Côtes du Tarn is mainly oceanic in winter and spring, while it is influenced by the Mediterranean during the other seasons.

There are quite a few grape varieties authorized for Côtes du Tarn rosé and red wines, but Gamay is mainly used for the latter. The red wines of the Côtes du Tarn PGI are light and harmonious. The white wines of the PGI are dry and lively, mainly made from Sauvignon, Muscadelle, Mauzac, or Chardonnay grape varieties, although others are also authorized. The qualities of Côtes du Tarn PGI wines are worth discovering, particularly at Domaine Plageoles.
