Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Founded around 1850, this family estate has been passed down through six generations. Following in the footsteps of his father Louis, Didier Barré, who took over in 1983, contributed to the revival of Madiran, of which he was one of the standard-bearers. In 2017, sisters Claire and Marion Bortolussi (daughters of Alain Bortolussi of Ch. Viella) took over the reins of this flagship 25-hectare estate, forming a partnership with wine merchant Lionel Osmin to manage the estate and market its wines. The conversion to organic farming began in 2020.
