Berthoumieu Estate
Domaine Berthoumieu is located north of the Pyrenees, equidistant from the Atlantic Ocean and the Pyrenean mountains, within the Madiran appellation. Domaine Berthoumieu was acquired in 2018 by the Bertolussi family, who also own Château Viella.

Domaine Berthoumieu spans two distinct soil types: a clay-and-gravel plateau that produces AOC Madiran wines that are both powerful and velvety, capable of aging with elegance, and a clay-loam-gravel slope more suited to fruit-forward wines with moderate aging potential. Together, these make up the bulk of the 25 hectares of vineyards at Domaine Berthoumieu, an AOC Madiran estate.

Today, the Bortolussi sisters, Claire and Marion, are at the helm of Domaine Berthoumieu. Daughters of Alain Bortolussi of Château Viella, they have formed a partnership with wine merchant Lionel Osmin.
