Klein Constantia

A fixture at all European royal courts in the 18th and 19th centuries,Klein Constantia later suffered from the phylloxera crisis. It wasn’t until 1986, after a century of dormancy, that Klein Constantia regained its former glory and has since consistently ranked among the world’s top 10 most renowned estates. Hubert de Boüard, a minority co-owner known for his other estate, Château Angelus, joined the venture in 2005.

Klein Constantia ’s vineyards span 146 hectares on the eastern slopes of Constantiaberg Hill. The estate’s grape varieties consist mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Muscat de Frontignan, which is used to produce Vin de Constance.
