Palatinat
The Palatinate (Pfalz) is an extension of the Rhine-Hesse region and stretches to the northern border with Alsace. The Palatinate is a relatively warm region, sheltered by the surrounding hills.
Riesling is the dominant grape variety in the Palatinate, but Scheurebe, Weissburgunder, Spätburgunder, and Portugieser are also found there, with the latter being a red variety.
