"A delight for the palate!"
“A floral bouquet that is already quite magnificent, followed by a pronounced finish and a dry, firm palate. A serious wine with beautiful structure. Perfectly suited for pairing with food. An almost thrilling finish.” (Jancis Robinson 2025)

Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more conventional and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Alongside his wine merchant venture in South Africa, Julien Schaal founded his Alsatian business in 2011—a highly unique endeavor, as it is exclusively a wine merchant operation based on purchasing grapes from Grand Cru vineyards. Currently, nine grand cru wines are on the list, representing nearly every type of soil in the region, and the selection consists solely of Riesling, with the exception of a Gewürztraminer from Osterberg and a blend from Altenberg de Bergheim. In a blind tasting, his 2017 vintages blew us away. Hats off!

About the wine:
The 2024 Micas Brand Grand Cru Riesling comes from a south-facing plot in the Brand vineyard. A lively note of dried lemon balm adds an ethereal green touch to the citrusy liveliness. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, like a rising sun that illuminates everything. The texture is exceptionally smooth, with an almost luminous character of ripe lemon zest. The overall impression is at once rigorous, warm, and luminous. It is a magnificently energetic wine, full of light. (Very dry)
