"Beautiful texture!"
Sophie delights us once again with this new vintage of Pinot Gris, which, as always, is characterized by its freshness, balance, and length—qualities that make it the very epitome of a Pinot Gris accessible to a wide audience, all at a very reasonable price. The result is a concentration of white flowers, pear, and subtle sweet spices, with hints of fennel and brioche. A real treat!

Intense aromas of pear, green apple, and sweet spices, with a subtle hint of toasted spices that adds depth, along with herbal and toasty notes

Fresh, with a full-bodied texture and a lovely acidity, it harmoniously blends flavors of fresh herbs, green apple, pear, and fresh quince, accented by exotic notes of cinnamon and clove; a subtle woody character enhances the wine’s complexity, adding finesse and a long finish.

About the estate:
Alongside a wine-trading venture in South Africa, Julien Schaal founded his Alsatian business in 2011—a highly original endeavor, as it is exclusively a wine-trading operation based on the purchase of grapes from grand cru vineyards. Currently, the selection features nine grands crus, representing just about every soil type in the region, and the lineup consists entirely of Riesling—with the exception of a Gewürztraminer from the Osterberg and a blend from the Altenberg in Bergheim. In a blind tasting, his 2017 vintages blew us away. Hats off!
