Wine rated (2025 guide) 93/100
Rated estate (2023 guide) 3*Stars (These represent the pinnacle of French winemaking. The finest terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical experience)
About the wine:
The Lerchenberg Pinot Gris boasts a rich, spicy body with bold blood orange notes that come through clearly.
About the estate:
Antoine, the son of Marc Kreydenweiss, has been at the helm of this estate in Andlau since 2007; it is among the pioneers of biodynamics in Alsace. The diversity of the estate’s terroirs and their subtle interpretation have always been a strong point here, further enhanced by the changes Antoine has implemented (slower pressing and extended aging on the lees). The risks taken in vinifying many cuvées without sulfur (or with minimal levels) have paid off and result in no flaws whatsoever. A small range of wines made from purchased organic grapes has been launched under the label Lune à Boire. The Pinot Noir and macerated wines (not rated) are of the highest caliber. The standards have returned to the highest level with wines of rare vitality, and continue to deepen, with ambitious four-year aging for the 2017 Grand Cru Rieslings. These exciting wines, of rare vitality, have earned the estate its third star this year.

About the wine:
Clay soils with sandstone and schist at the foot of the Mönchberg. The bouquet offers a pleasant freshness, revealing notes of white-fleshed fruits. With good body, the wine combines sweetness, depth, and structure. A wine whose maker is attuned to the terroir, with clarity and freshness as its defining characteristics. Now – 2032
