In just a few years, Félix Meyer has built a solid reputation in Alsace. This is no coincidence: the viticulture is of high quality, with carefully controlled yields, and the wines are aged on fine lees in large oak vats. Having joined the family estate in 1992, Félix has skillfully brought out the character of Katzenthal’s granitic terroirs. Don’t overlook his Gewürztraminer, which is never heavy and achieves a crystalline purity, winning over even the detractors of this variety, which is all too often described as “buttery.” The estate expanded by 3.5 hectares in 2019, and 2021 saw the arrival of organic certification.

Right from the start, the bouquet of this Wineck-Schlossberg highlights its depth. It manages to strike a balance between richness and freshness, between spices and fruit! Salty on the attack, the wine stands out for its linear and sharp character. It strikes a balance between acidity and austerity through its salinity and vigor. The invigorating finish only prolongs the pleasure, highlighting its endless persistence. This is a wine that shuns half-measures. It gets straight to the point and carries itself with confidence.
