"Master of himself, he looks you straight in the eye, like no other great dry white wine in the world does." (James Suckling 2022)
"Hints of almonds and spices in the bouquet of the 2020 vintage, which also displays minerality. Deep, the wine stands out for its delicate character and exceptional ability to combine fullness and subtlety, maturity and freshness. Hints of citrus blend with minerality, stone fruit notes, and a touch of spice. On the palate, the wine impresses with its ability to combine intensity, verve, vigor, and finesse. It is precisely in this scenario that an exceptional wine stands out, when it is capable of performing in several registers. A wine that shines with its accomplished, persistent, full-bodied, and harmonious character. It is great, it is young, probably too young, but it is incredibly good... and perfectly balanced. For me, it is one of the greatest Alsatian wines I have ever tasted." (Yves Beck 2025). • Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
The Ribeauvillé winery is slowly evolving to keep up with the times. After having taken the turn towards grand cru wines, Trimbach is in the process of converting to organic production (certification planned for 2023). The process will require the involvement of grape and wine suppliers. Here, Riesling is king (55% of volumes). The terroirs are ideal: marl-limestone (Geisberg, Mandelberg, Clos-saint-Hune au Rosacker) or granite (Schlossberg, Brand). The cuvée frédéric-émile blends the grand crus Osterberg and Geisberg. The 2017 and 2019 vintages will make history.

Domaine noté (guide 2023) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
The 2020 Riesling Clos Ste Hune opens with a clear, intense nose, spiced with cloves, herbaceous and delicate, with aromas of ripe, concentrated but juicy Riesling berries. Juicy yet concentrated, this is a powerful Riesling, extremely dense, tight and persistent, from Hunawihr's most prestigious vineyard, located in Rosacker, but never marketed as a grand cru. The 2020 vintage should improve with further bottle aging before release. It has 13.8% alcohol and contains 3.4 grams per liter of unfermented sugar. Tasted at the estate in May 2022.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the domain :
Trimbach, a landmark winery that stands proudly in the beautiful city of the minstrels, delights wine-lovers with its legendary Frédéric-Émile and Clos Sainte-Hune cuvées. From vintage to vintage, Pierre Trimbach vinifies Riesling in a vertical, dry style. His brother Jean manages worldwide sales. They are now supported by the new generation, Anne and Frédérique (Pierre's daughters) and Pauline and Julien (Jean's children). The family vinifies close to 60 hectares of property and around 100 hectares of purchased grapes. Since 2009, some of the grand crus have been claimed by Jean Trimbach and directly allocated in small quantities to the world's finest tables. Jean Trimbach is making an undeniable contribution to the development of Alsace wines, with emblematic cuvées at international level, while producing entry-level wines of consistent quality. The Pinot Noir range still has room for improvement.

About the wine:
The 2020 Riesling Clos Sainte Hune comes from a 1.6-hectare plot located in the Rosacker Grand Cru. The nose is smoky and earthy, with notes of mirabelle plum skin. The palate is immediately creamy, with a beautiful note of fresh and cooked mirabelle plum, which brings out the charm of stone fruit, which currently dominates the essential minerality and concentration. The fruity charm hides the essential depth and freshness of the terroir, the deep minerality and the magnificent and extremely balanced texture. The finish is salty, concentrated, and tangy. A picture of balance. (Very dry)

About the wine:
As incredibly dense as it is precise and concentrated, this wine possesses exceptional purity and originality. Master of itself, it looks you straight in the eye, as no other great dry white wine in the world does. The finish is extraordinary, dazzling, stimulating, and inspiring. And, yes, it also has wonderful fruitiness, a very invigorating acidity, subtle minerality, and much more! Drink upon release in 2024.
