"One of Australia's finest Syrahs: sublime terroir and impressive complexity!"

"Herbs and black fruits with lots of spice too—a little fleshy. Thick and full-bodied on the palate, it immediately seduces with its texture and roundness. Broad and generous, not very juicy but dense, with lots of liveliness and energy. Round and complete, very easy to drink. A wine to share with friends with a juicy lamb. Salty finish. Extremely good. 2026-2040" (Decanter 2024) - Delivery in wooden crates is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Herbs and dark fruits with lots of spice too—a little fleshy. Thick and full-bodied on the palate, it immediately seduces with its texture and roundness. Wine rating (2020 guide) 98/100 (Exceptional)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About wine:

Sourced exclusively from the Barossa Valley, RWT is aged solely in French oak barrels, which sets it apart from the rest of the Penfolds range in two ways. Always seductive and voluptuous (and, I admit, one of my favorites), the 2018 RWT Shiraz reaches new heights in a great Barossa vintage, with aromas of red fruit, refined hints of vanilla and notes of baking spices, complemented by more exotic elements such as star anise and cocoa powder. It is full-bodied and velvety without being unstructured, with a long, complex finish and a concentration that will allow it to age for two decades or more. 2022-2040

Wine rated (2021 guide) 96/100

About wine:

This wine offers seductive and complex aromas right from the start, ranging from black cherry and blackcurrant to cedar, mocha, graphite, herbs, and black olive. Concentrated yet perfectly balanced, the palate is marked by savory tannins, while flavors of spice and black berries intermingle harmoniously. It offers power and refinement. Drink now through 2040.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 18/20

About wine:

Bright dark purple color. Wet oak nose, in my opinion. Very distinctive! And definitely not a wine for tasting. Nose of camphor and very obvious maturity. Round and very delicately crafted. I could almost drink it tonight! Transparent and lively. On the palate, it seems to have strayed a little from the Grange model of concentration. Appetizing and dry on the finish. Almost as light as a claret. A charmer. Excellent balance. 2022-2040

Rated estate (2022 guide) Recommended

About wine:

It has a very appealing, fresh and vibrant nose, with aromas of ripe red cherries, blackberries, goji berries and red currants, as well as red plums and hints of wild herbs and licorice. Very expressive and fragrant. The palate offers very intense and powerful flavors of ripe red cherry and plum, as well as impeccably fresh French oak (64% new) that envelops and prolongs the finish. The tannins are very ripe and well positioned. Drink within the next two decades.
