Domaine Anita - Beaujolais Villages Coteau de Malval 2023
93/100
James Suckling
"An extraordinary Beaujolais-Villages (Suckling)"
"An extraordinary Beaujolais-Villages and an extraordinary 2023 with a root that you have to taste to believe. That and the eruption of stony minerality on the extremely concentrated palate make this wine a breathtaking Beaujolais. The only slight issue is that you have to like acidity, as the finish is undulating." (James Suckling 2024).

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Originally from Bresse, Anita Khunel, after a brilliant career as a road cyclist (she competed in the World Championships in Slovenia in 1996!), decided to return to the family estate that same year. She learned the trade of viticulture and winemaking before creating her own winery in 2015: Domaine Anita. Today, the estate encompasses six appellations: Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Morgon, Fleurie, Beaujolais, and Beaujolais-Villages. Known for her structured style, Anita Kuhnel gains in precision and balance every year. 2017 is a great success. We are not far from the third star!
