Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Fabien Chasselay and his sister Claire took over the family estate in 2008, in the south of Beaujolais, in the magnificent Pierres Dorées area. The vineyard was already certified organic, and when they set up a wine trading business that year, alongside the estate, to market wines from the north of the region, this was also done using certified organic grapes. The 2016 vintage is very successful for the Chasselays, particularly the Chénas and Côte de Brouilly.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
The Chasselays have lived on the Éparcieux plot in the golden village of Châtillon-d'Azergues since 1418. At the helm of the estate since 2008 is a complementary duo: Claire and her brother Fabien. Their father Jean-Gilles, a prominent figure in Beaujolais, passed on his values of hard work and sharing to them. The estate, certified organic since 2006, works its terroirs while respecting biodiversity. In the cellar, there are no yeasts and no sulfites (except for a small amount during bottling). Destemming is adapted to the vintage and each wine. In 2018, there is a slight lack of consistency in the range, with some wines well defined and others lacking depth.

Juicy, light, fresh, a highly drinkable juice, excellent value for money on this Beaujolais!

Note and opinion by Mr. REMI L. Published on 08/30/2022
Gives the impression of an unfinished wine, with incomplete fermentation. As a result, it is closer to an alcoholic fruit juice! Not good at all, at least with a meal. A shame, because the substance seemed promising.
