Notes: RVF 16.5/20
A cuvée from the Py hill, with its granite and schist soil, which dominates the village of Villié-Morgon. Beautiful aromas of nuts and red fruit flesh make this a delicate wine. The manganese contained in the Py granite, which the vines absorb, gives it a structure that will allow it to be stored for several years.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2014 guide) Selected (An estate or producer that impressed us with one or more of its wines, but about which we cannot give an overall opinion on the style of the entire range)
About the estate:
This property, formerly Château Bellevue, is the Morgon counterpart to Château des Jacques in Moulin-à-Vent. The same brilliant team, inspired by Jacques Lardière, vinifies in a similar spirit and produces full-bodied, generous wines, which over the past two years have progressed towards greater precision. The 2005 and 2006 vintages will set the standard for the entire region. We have a soft spot for Terres-Noires, one of the most flavorful and accomplished Morgons in 2005. In 2006, Morgon Côte-de-Py clearly took the lead. 2007 is the last vintage to be vinified, with wines being sold under the Château des Jacques label from the 2008 vintage onwards."

Rated estate (2014 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
(Jadot) "This prestigious wine merchant has an extensive range and a superb collection of terroirs, spread over 150 hectares and distributed across five continents in more than sixty countries. Jacques Lardière, the house's oenologist since 2009, has smoothly handed over the reins to Frédéric Barnier. 2012 will be his first vintage. Pierre-Henri Gagey, its CEO, continues to acquire Burgundy vineyards and has even set up a winemaking facility dedicated to Burgundy wines in Givry, in the Côte Chalonnaise."
