"Equilibre gourmand (Hachette)"

“Jean-Marc Laforest cultivates 7 hectares in the Régnié appellation. His vines, which are about 40 years old and planted on a terroir of sand and granite, have produced a wine with lovely freshness and a rich, well-balanced character. On the nose, notes of black fruit mingle with mineral nuances. On the palate, a velvety texture unfolds, supported by good tannic structure on the finish. A Régnié that is immediately pleasing, yet will also age well.” (Hachette Guide 2025)

About the wine:

Jean-Marc Laforest cultivates 7 hectares in the Régnié appellation. These vines, about 40 years old and planted on sandy, granite soil, have produced a wine with lovely freshness and a rich, balanced flavor. On the nose, notes of black fruit mingle with mineral undertones. On the palate, a velvety texture unfolds, supported by good tannic structure on the finish. A Régnié that’s instantly pleasing, yet will age well too.

About the estate:

A winemaker like his father and grandfather, Jean-Marc Laforest took over in 1973 an estate that now spans 20 hectares. His two sons, Thomas and Pierre, took over in 2016. The estate produces Brouilly, Côte-de-Brouilly, and Régnié wines, as well as Beaujolais-Villages.
