Château Les Pierrères
Château Les Pierrères is owned by the Bordenave family of Bordeaux, which has been managing Château Haut Canteloup since the 1970s. Its 44 hectares of vineyards, located in the heart of the Premières Côtes de Blaye, produce red, rosé, white, and crémant wines of great richness and refinement. Among these various wines, Château Les Pierrères—located in the Bordeaux region within the Blaye appellation—holds a prominent place.
The vineyards of Château Les Pierrères are spread across two small plots with distinct terroirs. In the town of Fours, the vines are planted on clay-limestone plateaus, which yields excellent results in terms of richness and ripeness. The wines are fruity, concentrated, and elegant. The vineyard is planted with the finest grape varieties of the Bordeaux region, comprising 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Château Les Pierrères is made from the first two grape varieties. A second vineyard is located in the northern part of the department, in the town of Saint Palais de Blaye. On these hillsides, most of which face south, Sauvignon Blanc expresses itself beautifully, combining power and complexity. The white grape varieties find a special affinity here with this siliceous-gravelly terroir.
