Château Brande-Bergère
Château Brande-Bergère’s estate extends north of Saint-Émilion, near Bordeaux. The Château Brande-Bergère vineyard is situated on a well-drained elevated plateau. The vines grow in silty-gravelly soil with a clay subsoil that is highly conducive to their healthy development. This same soil type extends all the way to Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. This is the source of the affinity between Château Brande-Bergère’s wines and those of the two great Bordeaux appellations. In the 19th century, this wine was actually known as "Nord Saint-Emilion."
The vineyard at Château Brande-Bergère is planted with a blend of half Merlot and equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The most appropriate methods are employed to produce a high-quality wine: grass cover, green harvesting, leaf removal, and hand-harvesting. Produced on an exceptional terroir, this meticulous work results in wines that are powerful yet elegant, robust, with intense aromas and a full, generous bouquet. This power and richness make the wines of Château Brande-Bergère excellent wines for aging in the Bordeaux Supérieur region.
