Château Compassant
Château Compassant was acquired by Jean-Luc Thunevin, a wine merchant and owner already well known in the Bordeaux region who is always on the lookout for the finest plots of land. Château Compassant is located in Génissac in the Entre-deux-Mers region. The Château Compassant vineyard is planted on superb clay-loam soil. The wine is produced with the same meticulous care as that practiced at Château de Valandraud, also owned by Jean-Luc Thunevin.
Château Compassant’s wine is made from a blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaking is overseen by Guillaume Quéron and culminates in a 12-month aging period in entirely new oak barrels, resulting in an AOC Bordeaux wine of a quality that meets the exacting standards Jean-Luc Thunevin imposes on all of his estates.
