“This original cuvée from the merchant division showcases Petit Verdot, a grape variety rarely used on its own. The color is dark and deep; the nose is rich and complex, with notes of well-ripened black and red fruits, licorice, and a fresher hint of garrigue. This sunny character carries over to the palate, which is incredibly full-bodied, round, and smooth—yet never heavy and always elegant—supported by polished, velvety tannins. A true delight that fully embraces its fruitiness.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

About the wine:

This unique cuvée from the wine merchant division showcases Petit Verdot, a grape variety rarely used on its own. The color is deep and dark; the nose is rich and complex, with notes of ripe black and red fruits, licorice, and a fresher hint of garrigue. This sunny character carries over to the palate, which is incredibly full-bodied, round, and smooth—yet never heavy and always elegant—supported by polished, velvety tannins. A true delight that fully embraces its fruit-forward character.

About the estate:

Émile De Schepper, a Belgian, began investing in the Bordeaux wine region in 1950. In addition to its wine merchant business (De Mour), the family now also owns and operates about 50 hectares of vineyards: in the Médoc, Château Haut-Breton Larigaudière (Margaux), Château Tayet, and Château Lacombe Cadiot (Bordeaux Supérieur); and in Saint-Émilion, Tour Baladoz and Croizille.

Excellent. Probably the best Bordeaux from this appellation that I've ever tasted. Subtle, full-bodied, and very pleasant.

Long finish. Simple on the palate, making it particularly enjoyable as an accompaniment to a meal. Less impressive as an aperitif

A marvelous wine. Subtle smoky notes against a backdrop of crushed fresh, ripe strawberries, with a beautiful balance on the palate.
