“The 2016 Viminière, a pure Malbec, is reminiscent of the cooler terroirs of Cahors: a nose of wild fruit, and a palate built around a robust yet refined tannic structure.” (The Guide to the Best Wines of France 2018 - RVF)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The 2016 Viminière, a pure Malbec, is reminiscent of the cooler terroirs of Cahors: it has a nose of wild fruit and a palate built around a robust yet refined tannic structure.
About the estate:
Starting with his family’s vineyard on the right bank in Vérac, near Fronsac, Hervé Lhuillier has established a true premium Bordeaux brand, built on the foundations of depth, authenticity, and carefully crafted oak aging. New vines of Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, planted on exposed limestone (the quarries are open to visitors), will soon begin production. While the density-sorting machine brought greater precision to the 2018 vintage, we remain unsatisfied with the somewhat exaggerated extraction and aging. Let’s give the wines time to settle before considering removing the star.
